Christmas Pictures of Nellie Belle, Opi and Sister Barney

Opi and Nellie Belle celebrated Christmas with their cousins Skeeter and Susie. Of course, there were a few humans present too. After all, who was going to bring presents and dish up the food? Hope you enjoy. Hugs and wagging tails...

Our "Aunt" Sofia Finally Went Home

Our "grandma" or "omi" as she likes to be called went on a cruise recently.  That meant that our "aunt" Sofia had to stay with us for a whole week.  Our mommy and daddy like Sofia but Nellie Belle is a bully with Sofie. Barney and Opi could really care less if Sofie visits, but Nellie is more spoiled and a real diva at times.  Here are a few pictures of Sofie's visit.

Sofia--she wouldn't hold still for picture

Opi
Opi was sick this past week.  Probably had some kind of bug.  The vet didn't know what was going on but he knew Opi wasn't feeling too chipper.  One good bit of news from that visit--Opi has lost 1 1/2 lbs!  Yippee that expensive Science Diet Light has done some good!  Now that Opi has gone from 8lbs 9oz to 7lbs even we still have a ways to go until he is in the 5lb range.  This picture isn't recent, for some reason he managed to escape the camera fanatic in our house lol.

This is it for now folks, so hugs and puppy kisses for all!

What's New With Opi, Nellie Belle and Sister Barney

Opi and Nellie Belle have a new crocheted mat for their naps on the cold floor.  Their mommy made it for them.  Here's some pictures of them using it:

Our sister Barney has had a lump on her bottom for several years.  The vet has said that we shouldn't worry about it.  He didn't want to take it off because Barney might have problems from the general anesthesia she'd have to have if it was removed.  No problems for years until mommy came home from work a couple weeks ago and found blood all over the house.  Barney had chewed on it.  Mommy loaded Barney into the car and rushed off to the vet.  Barney had to wear one of those things mommy calls a funnel collar and take antibiotics.  Barney is ok now and we're happy.  We all teased her and called her "Funnel Head" but we are really happy she is ok now.

That's it for now!  Hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.  Wagging tails and puppy kisses...

Some New Pictures of The Chi Kids and Their Sister

Here is a slide show of Barney and the chis--Nellie Belle and Opi.  They run when their mommy comes near them with a camera.  I pulled them out from under blankets, under chairs and grabbed them as they dashed outside.  Barney is the old gal and she just puts up with her mommy's crazy ways.  So here's the show for your enjoyment....

No sound because every time I try to put music with a video here it comes back as a copyright violation and we don't want that, oh no.
Hugs and wagging tails...

Big Sister Barney Claims New Chair

I bought this wingback chair at an auction. It coordinates with the couch nicely. Barney, who never jumps on furniture, staked her claim to this chair! See how she smiles...

Fun in the Sun

Nellie Belle and Opi were having a great time cavorting in the sun. I was busy trying to get my house clean before my mil came over to babysit the chis and their big sister Barney. DH and I were going to Illinois to visit some of my family. During break-time, I broke out my camera and started going to town filming them and taking their pictures. This video is 3 separate small clips that I have joined together. There are some talkative people in the background so just ignore them when they start talking local politics. It's not the best quality but you can see the "kids" having fun. After we returned from Illinois, the "kids" were scratching themselves raw so we took them to the vet. No fleas but they were having problems with allergies. The vet told us that we live in the allergy capital of the USA. Oh, and Opi, our "chunky monkey" needs to lose about 3 lbs! I had the vet tell that to dh because dh never listened to me when I said Opi needed to lose weight. We had been free feeding all 3 of them but we had to put a stop to that. Now, all 3 of them are put out with the new feeding schedule!

Big Sister Barney--A Wanna Be Chi!

Not too long ago, I saw Barney sitting on one of the chi's beds. She had her ears all perked up and pointing like a chihuaha's ears! How funny is this! I thought to myself "Barney is a 'wanna be chi'!" Here's the picture and I hope you get a chuckle out of it like I did.

Opi and Nellie With a Few Loved Ones

Nellie Belle, Opi and their big sister Barney (yes Barney is a girl) love the attention from brother Justin and Leslie. Here they are earlier this year getting and giving lots of love. Nellie's cute little hoodie is actually one for a preemie baby. It's a tad bit too big but otherwise not too bad of a fit and she didn't complain too much earlier this year when we had an ice storm and power outage and I kept her dressed in it.

Starting This Blog Up

Hi and welcome to the startup of this new blog of Nellie Belle and Opi. They are my chihuahua babies and I thought they needed their own home on the web. You can see them in the first pic. We're in process of constructing this site so stay tuned for more fun! Before I forget, they have a big sister named Barney. Barney is an old gal and she is 1/2 Miniature Schnauzer and 1/2 Australian Shepherd. The picture here is of Barney and one of my human sons, Matthew.
